Take The Trucks Off Your Skateboard In 3 Easy Steps

Fortunately, taking the trucks off your skateboard deck is relatively straight forward. To help make the process as easy as possible for you, here’s how to remove your skateboard trucks in 3 simple steps.

What You Will Need:
First off, it is important that you have all of the correct equipment ready before you start. Throughout the process, you will be removing several screws and bolts from the trucks and therefore you don’t want to be running in and out of the room to grab another tool in case you lose any parts.
So, here is what you will need to get the job done:
- The Skateboard
- A Screwdriver
- A Skate Tool
- Spacious Work Area
- Small bowl/container
Step 1: Removing The Nuts
Starting off, place your skateboard on your work area. Then, on the underneath of your board place the smallest socket of your skate tool into one of the nuts on your truck.
Once in, on the top of your board you then need to insert the screwdriver in the screw that is in the same nut as your skate tool. When both are in the correct position, you need to twist the skate tool whilst keeping your screwdriver still, so it slowly becomes loose.
When the nut is removed, place it in your small container so you do not lose it (if you ever want to fit the trucks back onto your board, then the parts need to be kept safe). Then you need to complete the same process on the remaining nuts in the truck.

Step 2: Taking Off The Trucks
Now that all of the nuts and bolts have been taken off, you can move onto the next step which is taking off the trucks. All you simply need to do is lift the trucks off the screws. Be sure to do this step carefully to avoid damaging your board.
After doing so, you will be left with your skateboard and 8 screws, each sticking out of one of the holes in your deck.
Step 3: Removing The Screws
The final step to taking off the trucks on your skateboard is removing the screws. It is important that you take your time with this step or you may risk damaging your board. There are essentially two methods to remove the screws.
- Place your skateboard on a surface with the screws down and apply downwards pressure to the board until the screws pop out.
- Using a strong, secure tool, such as a hammer, you can hit the bottom of the screws in order to pop them out of the deck.
Remember to place the screws in your small container, along with the other parts to avoid losing them.
Once all the screws are out of your skateboard deck, then you are all done! You have successfully removed the trucks from your skateboard. Enjoy using your Boards On The Wall deck mount!
